Katie Falkowski, Owner/Head Coach

Katie Falkowski hails from Sandwich, MA and has an extensive background in coaching and training athletes. She is passionate about helping people to become the best versions of themselves and learn how to more fully enjoy life through exercise and a positive mental approach.  Her passion is helping people to realize what they are capable of and giving them the tools, motivation, support, and confidence to get there.

While at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA Katie played forward on the ice hockey team. Upon graduating in 2008, she moved to South Dakota where she earned her Masters in Education at Creighton University and taught middle and high school. In addition to teaching she also coached middle school track and field, varsity ice hockey, and varsity football.

It was also during her time in South Dakota where Katie found and fell in love with CrossFit. After returning back to the East Coast, Katie received her CrossFit Level I Certification and has attended several CrossFit courses in the constant pursuit of more knowledge in order to better serve her members. She has also spent time training high school and college athletes at Holy Cross, and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

She is also the author of the book “GRIND: Greatness Rises In each New Day.”

Bridget Armstrong, Coach/Fundamentals Coach

I obtained my CrossFit Level 1 certification in June of 2012 after about a year of active participation.  My love for the sport continues to grow every day. In a few short months, CrossFit empowered me to vastly enhance my fitness level just as advertised by friends who raved about the programming. Based on these results, I have no doubt that CrossFit is one of the most effective and transformative workout regimens out there but this fact barely touches the surface of how the sport has impacted my life.  CrossFit has given me so much more than improved strength & conditioning. CrossFit has played a pivotal role in helping me become more confident and hopeful about my ability to persevere through any barriers that may come my way in life (which is a valuable commodity for any single parent).

The remarkable thing about CrossFit is that it instills just as much mental fortitude and resilience as physical endurance. These benefits may be a little harder to recognize to the casual observer but they are waiting there in the gym for those willing to dedicate the time and energy to achieve them.

The sport has an amazing sense of community that brings people together no matter where we have been or where we are going. We are there to cheer each other on during a tough workout and to laugh about it together after picking ourselves up off the floor. It is a true privilege to be able to work with each person in the gym to share in this journey.

CrossFit Hyannis provides me with the opportunity to bring that same passion to helping our members to achieve levels of fitness that they never dreamed were possible. There is nothing more effective or efficient in improving your fitness level than CrossFit. Having the opportunity to help people to attack the WODs with intensity and determination and strive for virtuosity is a real blessing.
