CrossFit Hope for Kenya

One of the beautifully amazing things about CrossFit is that we as a community believe that life is a gift and that we can make it better every day.  We are a community of hopeless optimists, committed to helping each other to reach our goals and live lives of joy, accomplishment, and shared enthusiasm.  CrossFit, Inc. has developed the CrossFit for Hope Kenya Initiative based on the belief that we as CrossFitters can help make the lives of those in rural Kenya better.  Taken from the CrossFit Hope for Kenya site:

“CrossFit Inc., is involved and committed to making people’s lives better in the 250 square-mile rural area outside of Mombasa, Kenya. Education, food and water are three major areas the people of Kenya need the most help. We are creating realistic, self-sustaining solutions to everyday problems faced by Kenyans. CrossFit is providing opportunities for these people they otherwise would not have received. Through our affiliates’ efforts, this will manifest. We provide no handouts. Only through commitment and investment do we begin to help the people, which in turn creates a solution that stands strong for generations to come.”

At CrossFit Hyannis we will be participating in CrossFit for Hope by doing the Hope for Kenya workout on Friday, February 15th during all classes.  The workout is:

Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 12 minutes of:
50 Squats
30 Push-ups
15 Pull-ups

I hope that everyone will make an effort to be there on that day, and I would love to raise as much money as possible for this great cause.  Every little bit helps, and I’m sure the CrossFit Hyannis family can come up big.  Check out The CrossFit Hope for Kenya Site for more information and to set up a donation page.  We will also have a collection at the gym if anyone would like to donate that way.  You can make a difference, I Hope you do.
