Better Every Day

It’s been great these last few days to see so many people new to CrossFit ready to embrace something new and take on something different and challenging in their lives. Walking into a CrossFit gym can be intimidating at first- especially if you’ve never spent much time around barbells, kettlebells, and all the other fun toys that CrossFitters use on a daily basis. But as time passes and you continue to show up each day, you’ll come not only to understand the movements, techniques, and how your body functions, but also come to really know and understand the CrossFit culture and community. CrossFit is a community that encourages you to go beyond your limits, but also to realize that your fitness journey can be fun and your gym can be a place where you love to go each day. Today we had some people doing power cleans for the first time in their lives, and they did an amazing job. This movement is one of the more technical movements that we do, and yet they were able to have a great attitude and determination to get better each rep (And even practice with their Swiffer Sweeper at home- love it!)

CrossFit is about getting better every day. It’s about showing up ready to work hard, learn something new, practice old skills, lift heavy things, and have some fun. It’s about going where you thought your limit was… and then going a little farther. It’s about supporting the other people doing the WOD with you, and creating friendships forged over sweat, determination, laughter, and the occasional bit of agony (*cough*burpees*cough). CrossFit is about becoming a better you.
