 January Athlete of the Month- Katie Clancy!!!

The Athlete of the Month for January 2013 is the one and only Katie Clancy.  Katie is likely one of the biggest advocates for CrossFit Hyannis and CrossFit in general and she may be borderline obsessed with CrossFit (but then again, what good CrossFitter isn’t).  Katie regularly attends the 5:30am class, which she hits up before attacking her day- which includes a full time job and raising her family, including four girls.  She has even got her high school daughter into CrossFit, understanding that the gifts of CrossFit go beyond just the physical realm and into the mental realm, while allowing us all to grow in confidence.

Katie came in to CrossFit open and eager to try something new, and she has embraced the everyday challenges of CrossFit full force.  She has committed to dialing in her diet, working her weaknesses, consistently attending classes, and growing the CrossFit Hyannis family.  Her enthusiasm is infectious, and she continually pushes those around her.  Her CrossFit achievements are many, and include conquering such movements as the kipping pull-up, double-unders, and the handstand push up.  She continues to develop her strength each day, never “saving it” for the WOD.  It’s been truly amazing to see Katie’s progress, and I can’t wait to see how she continues to grow and develop as a CrossFit athlete.  Keep up the great work Katie!
